Tina Ahuja is the daughter of Bollywood actor Govinda and Sunita Ahuja. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Tina Ahuja reveals casting directors never asked her for any auditions.
Tina Ahuja on her comeback to Bollywood and joining reality shows
During the interview, Tina was asked if she has been offered reality shows like Bigg Boss or Khatron Ke Khiladi, she said, “I have, but I’m not too comfortable. I don’t know, it’s like, I’m not good at arguments. And, I feel like I live in a bubble, a created bubble. And I feel that your art should speak for you, to you. I feel that something like a good short film, a good music video, a good project, or a web series—something of that sort is better, but you know, like, I can’t argue, I can’t do all that. And I don’t think I can personally survive without my morning routines. My morning prayers, I can give up something like that, but I can’t leave my morning routines and my prayers and everything.”
When talking about if she would make a comeback to film, Tina Ahuja said, “Very interesting. If something good comes up, yes, otherwise not interested.”
Tina Ahuja on casting directors never asking for audition
Tina Ahuja disclosed that a lot of casting people have certain inhibitions about her. She answered, “I moved on very quickly because, after a point, it was irritating for me when people said, ‘You have an institute at home, why are you doing this outside?’ So I was like, you know, this is so annoying. After a point, I was like, ‘How many times should I answer the same question again and again?’ So I said, might as well start working with my dad and start doing things that I like and enjoy doing. And if things have to happen, they have to happen. I don’t need to run the house by the grace of God; like, I didn’t have to run the house or anything of that sort.”
Tina started working with her father Govinda
She said, “And I started enjoying working with my father. I realized that where I left a lot of things behind, and I was like, check it, man, I don’t want to do this. Like, I would like to do things and projects that I want to do and be a part of, and I love doing it. So, even the music videos that came out, even the short films that came out, it’s because I wanted to be a part of it, not that I’m arrogant about it or anything of that sort.”
She added, “Like, I was open to a look test, but then a lot of people had a lot of inhibitions and a lot of blockages in their heads that, ‘Oh, she’s Govinda’s daughter, will she do a screen test or not?’ So I said, in my mind, if you’re making stories, I can’t do anything about it. I was open to a look test, I was open to a screen test, but it’s fine. I started doing things that I started enjoying because you can’t keep answering the same question again and again to everyone and every casting person, right?”
